The War is Over

The War is Over.
Ignorance won.
Ignorance, and lies, and malfeasance won
And corruption.
But mostly ignorance.

The party of values and fiscal responsibility no longer exists.
In its place is a cult of personality known as MAGA.

Somehow, inexplicably and despite the overwhelming evidence of total incompetence on the part of their dear leader, the movement continues to grow; 65 million in 2016. Nearly 75M in 2020, and now, in the 2024 election, 77,303,573 people voted for a four times indicted, once convicted felon.

People have told me that I can’t call all Trumpers, ignorant.
Sure I can.
I do it every day.

It has become fairly evident that there are two types of people that support Trump:
1. The ones who know he’s lying and don’t care, (ala Ted Cruz and Lizzy Graham), and
2. The people that think he’s telling the truth about things like voter fraud.
These people are willfully ignorant. They choose to ignore the facts.
But it’s the other ones that scare me. They are the most pathetic creatures on the planet.
They are the ones who are willing to sacrifice whatever integrity and values that might have once been instilled in them, just for a chance to sit near the center of power.
These are the boot lickers.

Marco Rubio appears to be a reasonable human being. He seems like he would be a decent Sec. of State under any other president, but after the way the Trump has humiliated him over the last 10 years, I no longer see him as a man. I see him as a neutered puppy who whimpers and licks the hand of his master right after getting smacked with the rolled up MAGAzine.
He’s not the only one.

The party that once espoused family values is now the party that defends those credibly accused of sexual assault and turns a blind eye when a Governor admits to killing her puppy because it didn’t obey her every command. Totally understandable, right?

I watched the confirmation hearing for Pete Hegseth and I was disgusted.
Not only by the fact that someone so obviously unqualified was being nominated, and not only by the fact that he been accused of financial impropriety, workplace drunkenness, and at least one case of sexual assault, but by the absolute ineptitude of the Democratic Senators who were questioning him about his qualifications for the job. Instead of rehashing his philandering and other personal nonsense, I would have asked him three simple questions about his behavior:

Mr. Hegseth. You said that the person who accused you of raping her was lying, and that the police cleared you of any criminal wrongdoing, why then, would you submit to blackmail and agree to pay the woman for her silence if your encounters were consensual?

Mr. Hegseth. You’ve been accused of multiple incidents of drunken boorish behavior, and yet you insist that you don’t have a drinking problem. Why did you agree not to drink during your time as Secretary?
Isn’t that an admission that you have a problem?

Mr. Hegseth. You’ve publicly stated that you want to get politics out of the military, but for the last ten years, you have been a biased voice on the most politically slanted news networks on the planet, so my question is…
Exactly when did YOU stop being political?

Those three questions would have left ol’ Pete stuttering, but instead, the Dems made themselves look silly asking the same pointless questions about which wife he was cheating on. From what I can tell, his infidelities might be the only Washington DC qualification he has in abundance.

Lying is a part of politics. I get that, but there is a big difference between political rhetoric and denial of basic facts.
A chicken in every pot was a Republican slogan back in the 1920’s. It’s a cute little saying that does very little harm and was used to get people elected.

Donald Trump’s political promises are far more elaborate and, frankly, ridiculous. In 2016, he claimed that he would be able to balance the budget and eliminate the US debt in eight years.
Ok. This was obviously bullshit at the time, but let’s take a look at just how ridiculous it truly was, shall we?

When Trump took over, the US had accumulated debt of over 19 TRILLION dollars; an obscene amount of money to be sure.
In order to eliminate that number, the US would have to run a One Trillion dollar surplus EVERY year, for AT LEAST 20 years to account for running interest on said debt. In order to eliminate that in eight years, the surplus would have to be along the lines of 3T per year. That is simply not possible.
Now you know that, and I know that, but the question is,
Did Trump know he was lying, or did he really believe that?
It’s the second answer that scares me.
What scares me more is that 65 Million people believed it,
And the ones that didn’t…
Well, they glossed over it and defended his remarks.
Guess what?
The opposite happened.
Trump cut taxes, increased spending, and not only ballooned the deficit, but he added about 7T to the debt BEFORE Covid hit.
So much for fiscal responsibility.

Now, the history of Trump’s lies is long and well documented;
Wind Mill cancer happens to be my favorite, but of course, the worst of them all was the Big Lie; that the 2020 election was stolen.

Aside from the fact that ZERO evidence has ever been presented,
and aside from the fact that he was indicted in TWO different courts stemming from his lies about the election, and aside from the fact that his lies led to one of the most embarrassing days in the history of the republic…
the one thing that the 2024 election proves…
is that there was no fraud in 2020.
It’s a fairly simple deduction.
If the Dems were successful in stealing the election in 2020,
what happened in 2024? They just didn’t try?
They just said, “fuck it, we’ll go legit this time”?
It’s ridiculous on its face.

I recently went through the reasons why the Dems lost in a previous post, so I won’t rehash them here.
I’ll just want to make one thing clear to those of you in the back.
You were duped.
If you believed that the 2020 election was stolen, then you’re the one that P.T. Barnum was talking about.
You were fooled by a charlatan.
And now it’s all on you.
Whatever happens henceforth, it’s your responsibility.
You broke it, you bought it.
I’m sure that Trump will blame Biden (or even Obama) for anything and everything that goes wrong, but let’s just get certain facts out of the way, shall we?

Today, Jan 20th, 2025, is Inauguration Day:
The S&P 500 is at 6,000. 55% higher than when Biden took over.
The GDP has had 10 straight quarters of growth.
Inflation has gone from 9% down to around 3.0%
The unemployment rate is at 4.1%
And violent crime is down since spiking in 2020.
These are facts. They are irrefutable and undeniable, (but I’m sure someone will try to both refute and deny).

Today, Jan 20th, Donald Trump starts his 2nd (and last) term as POTUS.
I fully expect the lies.
I fully expect the backstabbing.
And I fully expect the first firing of one of his trusted Psycho-infants to occur within 45 days, maybe less.

I also fully expect miracles.
I expect sunshine and rainbows every day.
I expect 6% GDP growth.
I expect $2 gas and free eggs.
And a puppy.
And if I don’t get it…

I’ll be here, waiting.
